Explanatory Notes To Assist Clients with producing a Design Brief

Project Requirements

A project requirement is the reasoning for your project, eg an increasing family; caring for an elderly or disabled person, increasing the value of your home, somewhere to put car, extra bathroom, en-suite bathroom, extra bedroom, dining room, lounge, etc., eg extension to be detached, attached, or alterations to existing.  It is important to have an idea of the approximate size requirements and preferred construction type.

Project Design

Size and position of windows, room layout, external design details, eg arched windows or even a finial on a gable end. Please provide a rough sketch detailing your ideas, or photos / pictures of design ideas or extensions, you have seen.

Please provide the following information

Is your property Listed or in a Conservation Area?  If so, please provide which Grade Listed It is important that the surveyor is aware of your approximate budget. I hope these explanatory notes are of assistance to you.  I am always happy to receive feedback on all the information.
